National Catholic Colleges Week

Organizational Goals for 2009:
  1. Integrate Catholic college involvement in central promotion of Catholic higher education.
  2. Develop a partnership with Catholic secondary schools in promoting Catholic colleges.
  3. Initiate involving the church at the parish level in promoting Catholic colleges.
  4. Establish a forum by which the Catholic and higher education media can embrace Catholic higher education.
Objectives:
  1. College and university enrollment offices will develop activities to reach out to Catholic secondary schools during the week.
  2. Promote and publicize facts and statistics about Catholic colleges through the media, email, and church announcements.
  3. Promotion of pulpit announcements, coordinated by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops about the goodwill, integrity, value, and advancement of Catholic colleges for Sunday, February 22, 2009.
  4. Catholic secondary schools will make announcements and post information in their schools prior to and during the week.
  5. The release of the 2009 Official Catholic College and University Guidebook will occur during the week, with a discount for families to purchase.
  6. National organizations will use the week as a time to host events.
  7. The chief information officers at Catholic colleges and universities will use this week as an opportunity to highlight the programs that exist on their campuses.
  8. Partner organizations will use this week as an opportunity to salute Catholic higher education (for example, the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA) is sponsoring a complete section on Catholic higher education in Momentum, the official journal of the NCEA).
