Dear fellow CCAA member:
On behalf of the Board of Directors of the National Catholic College Admission Association I would like to take this opportunity to provide you with an update regarding our efforts to promote our colleges and universities outside of the continental United States.
First, I know that you have previously received information regarding the Puerto Rico recruitment program. We are extremely happy to report that some forty Catholic colleges and universities will be participating in this inaugural special event. The early responses we have received from our colleagues on the secondary school side of the desk in Puerto Rico have been outstanding. We are encouraged as all indications point to this college fair being very well received and hopefully an annual program on the island. Even if you are not participating, all of the counselors in Puerto Rico who receive an invitation to this event will receive information and a copy of the Official Guidebook to Catholic Colleges and Universities. We will also be distributing to parents that evening both English and Spanish versions of handouts highlighting the benefits and distinctiveness of Catholic higher education.
Secondly, I would like to apprise you of another exciting initiative. In the spring of 2009 the National CCAA is planning a recruitment tour throughout Central America and Mexico. The trip is scheduled from March 17 through 26, 2009. A more detailed itinerary of this tour is attached along with an application (PDF) so you may register now. You may have also received a paper version of this invitation earlier. A brochure and application will be available at our booth during the upcoming NACAC conference in Seattle.
Having served as a volunteer tour leader to both of the aforementioned regions in the past, I am extremely optimistic concerning the tremendous possibilities to serve the Catholic populations in these markets. We will be partnering with Wren & Fida International as our tour provider, whose expertise will assist us in maximizing our travel time to devote to student recruitment and building relationships with counselors.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Brian Lynch, our Executive Director at 312.321.2726 or lynch@nationalcca.org, or Sue Komarnicki at Wren & Fida at 1.888.303.4481 or skomarnicki@wfintl.com.
As board members of the National CCAA, we strive to find ways that we can best serve our membership. Based on preliminary feedback we are receiving for both of these programs, we believe that we are delivering a value added service to all of our constituents.
Thank you for unwavering and continued support of Catholic higher education!
Sincerely,
Michael M. Gaynor
Director of University Admission
