Why Catholic higher education:
Diversity of options
Despite their similarities, the 230 Catholic colleges and universities in the United States are extremely diverse. Each has distinctive strengths – academically, culturally and spiritually. In choosing the school that is right for you, you may consider enrollment size; location; or academic, athletic and social offerings. You may also consider the religious order of the institution (e.g., Jesuit, Marianist, Sisters of the Holy Cross, Sisters of Mercy, etc.) and its particular mission, finding one that resonates with you.
Enrollment at Catholic universities can range from 1,000 to more than 20,000 students, and you’ll find Catholic colleges and universities in large cities and small town in 40 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. Catholic colleges and universities include women’s colleges, a historically black university; major universities with law, medical and other professional schools; and institutions granting pontifical degrees.
