- Boston College, the first institution of higher education to operate in the city of Boston, is today among the nation's foremost universities, a leader in the liberal arts, scientific inquiry, and student formation.
- Boston College recently began construction on plans for The Schiller Institute for Integrated Science and Society. Through the Institute, Boston College will explore new interdisciplinary courses in integrated and applied sciences, design thinking, implementation science, computer and data science, global public health and other fields that will combine elements of technology, engineering and entrepreneurship through collaboration with the university's professional schools and its Shea Center for Entrepreneurship.
- In August 2019, Boston College officially opened the Margot Connell Recreation Center. This new 244,000 square-food four-story facility includes a fitness center, rock climbing wall, jogging track, aquatics center, wood-floor basketball courts, tennis courts, multi-activity courts, multi-purpose rooms for spin, yoga, and fitness classes, and more.
