Hometown: Selma, TX
Major: Interdisciplinary Studies in Education
Kaycie, a 2020 graduate of Samuel Clemens High School in Schertz, Texas, will attend University of Dallas. She says that welcoming environment is what helped her to decide.

"I chose the University of Dallas because of the tight knit college experience others have. Hearing how others made a family out of friends in their time at UD really showed a friendly environment," she said.

At University of Dallas, Kaycie will pursue an Interdisciplinary Studies major within the Education Department in order to achieve her goal of becoming an English teacher.

We asked Kaycie:

What is your favorite book?
Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom.

What was your favorite class in high school?
My favorite class would definitely have to be English! I really like to write and English class has been a perfect outlet during stressful times at school.

What one tip about the college application process would you share with seniors or their parents?
Start your application process as early as possible! The earlier you have options, the easier it is to make the best decision for you.
