"I have always loved California and the Bay Area in particular. I had a wonderful experience at my Jesuit high school, so the prospect of receiving a Jesuit education in one of my favorite parts of the country was an opportunity that was tough to pass up!"

At Santa Clara, Nick will major in Political Science and minor in Communications and shared that he's still undecided about his future career plans.

We asked Nick:

What aspect of your college/university are you most excited about?
I am very excited to have the opportunity to study in the University Honors Program, which will give me the opportunity to engage more fully with my course material over my four years, concluding with the Senior Thesis, a year-long research project.

What one tip about the college application process would you share with seniors or their parents?
Get a head start on your essay during the summer before your senior year! Once school starts, you won't want to have to write your college essay(s) while also having to worry about your regular schoolwork.

We know the last year and a half of your high school career has been different than what you imagined it would be; what is one positive thing that came out of the experience?
During the height of the pandemic, it was at times difficult to find things to do in my free time, but the last year and a half has led me to get creative and find pastimes that I had never really considered before. For example, my friends and I started playing disc golf and have been playing ever since. It's really fun! Who knew?

What is one fun fact about you?
I am a fifth-generation Arizonan. My great-great grandmother was born in Globe, Arizona all the way back in 1893!
