A 2022 National CCAA Transfer Scholarship recipient, Candace will attend University of Detroit Mercy in Detroit, Michigan. She shared that many factors went into her decision to enroll, including the fact that her mother went there and the fact that they had an accelerated bachelor's to master's program in her desired area of study.
Candace previously attended Macomb Community College and at University of Detroit Mercy, she will pursue a Health Services Administration major. She shared her plans for after graduation, "eventually I would love to open a mental health facility. There is such a stigma surrounding mental health, and I would like to be a part in breaking that stigma."

What aspect of your college/university are you most excited about?
Meeting new people and getting involved in activities around campus
What one tip about the transfer process would you share with future transfer students?
Make sure to schedule classes that will transfer. At bare minimum, follow the transfer agreement.
What advice would you share with soon-to-be two-year college students as they begin their first year in the fall?
Relax and take your time. Don't stress yourself over not getting As, but learn as you go.
What is one fun fact about you?
I can play the flute.
