Olivia, a 2025 graduate of Westerville Central High School in Ohio, will attend The Catholic University of America. She shared that many factors led her to enroll at CUA, "I loved that Catholic makes beauty, faith, inclusivity, and scholarship core principles. Its values align with mine, and I feel incredibly in tune with the community at Catholic. I knew right away that Catholic was the place for me!"
At The Catholic University of America, Olivia will major in Politics and when asked about her future plans, she shared "I plan to either work in foreign service as a diplomat in Italy, or to get a job in the Ohio state government."
We asked Olivia:
Why did you choose to attend a Catholic college/university?
While I was raised Orthodox, I’ve always had connections to Catholicism. My best friend growing up was Catholic, and brought me on my first tour at Catholic U! It is also represents a way to connect with my late Grandmother, who was a devout Catholic her entire life. Being able to incorporate my faith into my higher education was another draw for me.
What aspect of your college/university are you most excited about?
I am so excited to be more independent and continue my tennis journey at a higher level.
What one tip about the college application process would you share with seniors or their parents?
Start your application early, ideally in the summer. It’s way easier than it looks, and will save you from a lot of stress later on.
What advice would you share with high school seniors as they begin their senior year in the fall?
Challenge yourself reasonably so you stay sharp to start college, but also make having fun a priority before you have to worry about more responsibilities.
