We asked Ulysses:

Why did you choose to attend a Catholic college/university?
I decided to attend a Catholic college because I grew up Catholic, everything in my life I have is thanks to the help and fortitude that the lord has given me to get to the point that I am in my life. DePaul's Vincentian values correlate with my core values of finding a way to make a world better by helping those we can.

What aspect of your college/university are you most excited about?
I am most excited about being back in a classroom, surrounded by my peers and classmates. Due to COVID, the last time I was in a classroom environment was 2020, my senior year of high school. I want to experience meeting new people and discussing ideologies and experiences with each other, and build meaningful friendships that are bonded by the struggles and hardships we will face together in our classes.

What one tip about the transfer process would you share with future transfer students?
Communicate with the school transfer advisors; they are going to be your best friend throughout the whole process. DePaul's transfer advisors made the whole process easy and stress-free.

What advice would you share with students who are considering transferring?
If you are considering transferring, make sure to keep track of dates of when colleges stop accepting applications; some close their application portal sooner than you might think and it cause you to lose opportunities.

What is one fun fact about you?
I love dogs, and I have a Mini Bernadoodle named Theo. He is my best friend!
