A 2026 National CCAA Transfer Scholarship recipient, Fisher will attend Gonzaga University. He shared that many factors went into his decision to enroll and ultimately chose Gonzaga "because of its location, programs, and opportunity. Gonzaga’s class sizes are much smaller on average than comparable state universities, which makes the community tighter knit and much stronger. The strength of the programs offered give some weight to the degree and provide good opportunities for employment. The campus being in Spokane puts me in close proximity to the forests and waters of northern Idaho and Washington."
Fisher previously attended Columbia Basin College and at Gonzaga, he will pursue an Electrical Engineering major. When asked about his future plans, he shared "I intend to work in power transmission/distribution and hope to help work on replacing and modernizing the United States’ aging power grid. Depending on my career, I may plan to pursue an MBA and transition to a more managerial role."

Why did you choose to attend a Catholic college/university?
I chose to attend a Catholic university based on my faith. Historically, the Church has placed a strong importance on education and understanding the world around us. This approach has led to Catholic universities having some of the best all-encompassing programs available.
What aspect of your college/university are you most excited about?
Attending Mass at St. Aloysius on campus and meeting with the various outdoor related student clubs.
What one tip about the transfer process would you share with future transfer students?
Don’t be afraid to constantly pick up the phone with any questions you have about the transfer process. The admissions counselors at your school of choice are always more than happy to help.
What advice would you share with students who are considering transferring?
Talking with current students and visiting campuses can give you a much better idea of a university compared to what you read online.
What is one fun fact about you?
I’ve been on crews that participated in black bear and elk habitat restoration.
