A 2026 National CCAA Transfer Scholarship recipient, Maya will attend University of San Francisco. She shared that many factors went into her decision to enroll. "I chose USF for the close-knit classroom sizes and community."
Maya previously attended Sierra College and at University of San Francisco she will major in Physics. When asked about her future plans, she shared, "I plan on continuing my education with USF's 4+1 program to obtain my master's in Data Science. I then hope to complete my doctorate in Astrophysics one day to pursue research."

Why did you choose to attend a Catholic college/university?
I chose a Catholic university for the Jesuit academic values.
What aspect of your college/university are you most excited about?
I am SO excited to start learning again, I am beyond ecstatic to learn as many topics and ideas from both my professors and peers.
What one tip about the transfer process would you share with future transfer students?
Reach out for help; there are so many resources available to you and people that would be more than happy to assist you in the process.
What advice would you share with students who are considering transferring?
Keep going and preserve your passions but don't forget to take care of yourself along the way.
What is one fun fact about you?
I did Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for 12 years!
