The National CCAA at NACAC
Each fall, you will find the National CCAA active and prominent at the National Association for College Admission Counselors (NACAC) Conference. Our annual reception is the premier event of the conference, and our membership meeting and breakfast offers members access to research, enrollment strategies, networking, and more.
*Please note, not all of the events listed below took place during the in-person 2021 NACAC Conference in Seattle.
Catholic Colleges Reception
The National CCAA hosts the Catholic Colleges Reception, a memorable event alongside the annual NACAC conference. The casual event brings together nearly 1,000 secondary school and independent counselors and admission representatives from National CCAA member institutions for networking and conversation. Each year boasts remarkable entertainment, food and drinks, and an unforgettable evening.
The reception is open to secondary school counselors, independent counselors, transfer counselors from two-year/community colleges, and admission staff from National CCAA member institutions.
Past receptions have been held at exciting venues, including Muhammad Ali Center in Louisville, Salt Lake City's Natural History Museum of Utah, Boston's John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum, the San Diego Zoo, Indianapolis's Indiana State Museum, Toronto’s Hockey Hall of Fame, and New Orleans’ House of Blues.
Membership Meeting and Breakfast
The annual National CCAA membership meeting and breakfast typically takes place on the Thursday morning of the NACAC conference, before the official start of the conference. These meetings include presentations on research demonstrating the value and benefits of Catholic higher education to assist admission professionals with enrollment strategies. The meetings also serve as an opportunity for members to meet National CCAA board members and other admission colleagues from Catholic colleges and universities across the United States.
The 2021 National CCAA Annual Membership Meeting was held virtually on Thursday, October 14, 2021. Thank you to the many National CCAA members who joined us. Any National CCAA member who is interested in watching a recording of the meeting should email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to request the Zoom recording link and passcode.
Stop by the National CCAA booth in the NACAC Conference Exhibit Hall to pick up reception tickets (advance registration required) and connect with board members and staff.
Thank you to all of our counseling colleagues who visited us at the National CCAA's exhibit booth during the 2021 NACAC Conference in Seattle.
We were thrilled to have the chance to say hello to so many of our colleagues in person and had fun watching as you took your chance on our own "Great Wheel" and won some of our exciting prizes including Seattle chocolate, sweatshirts and other items donated by our National CCAA member colleges and universities, National CCAA swag, and a ticket to next year's 2022 Catholic Colleges Reception in Houston.
We enjoyed the chance to catch up and hear how you've been and to share information about our member colleges and universities and the National CCAA organization. Thank you to everyone who visited us at the National CCAA exhibit booth and to the city of Seattle for such a great return to the NACAC conference!
And a big thank you to all of our National CCAA Exhibit Booth Sponsors who made our fun activities possible through their generous sponsorships.
We look forward to seeing you again in Houston in 2022!
Special Interest Group: Catholic Educators
The National CCAA runs a special interest group (SIG) — Catholic Educators — at NACAC each year. It is open to anyone who is interested in discussing anything related to Catholic education (secondary school or college). The mission of the Catholic Educators SIG is to work collaboratively on issues that impact educators in Catholic high schools, colleges, and universities and to network between high school and post secondary professionals with an interest in Catholic education.
Thank you to all who attended the September 24, 2021 Catholic Educators SIG Meeting in-person in Seattle and virtually via Zoom. If you were unable to join us, but are interested in watching a recording of the meeting, you can access it here. The passcode is =1i#x47o.
