A 2022 National CCAA Transfer Scholarship recipient, Ashley will attend University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas. She shared that many factors went into her decision to enroll.
"I chose UST because I knew the faith community there will help me delve deeper into my faith while studying for my degree at the same time. The business program at UST is good so I knew I’d be getting the best of both worlds."
Ashley previously attended Lone Star College-CyFair and at University of St. Thomas, she will pursue a Finance major. She shared her plans for after graduation, "I want to be a personal financial planner, and eventually own my own personal finance firm."
We asked Ashley:
What aspect of your college/university are you most excited about?
Being part of one of the sisterhood faith groups at UST, and being able to live on campus with them!
What one tip about the transfer process would you share with future transfer students?
Make sure to submit all paperwork needed for financial aid as soon as possible, talk with your future university’s financial aid office of possible transfer scholarships and grants offered!
What advice would you share with soon-to-be two-year college students as they begin their first year in the fall?
Get involved with as many clubs your two-year university offers! Its how you start to build connections and enhance your resume, which will help you stand out when you apply to transfer.
What is one fun fact about you?
I have 4 chickens, 3 dogs and 1 cat in my house!
