Hometown: Arlington, MA
Major: Engineering Physics
A 2023 graduate of Boston College High School, Bennett will attend Saint Anselm College. He shared that he ultimately chose Saint Anselm "I chose Saint Anselm College because of the strong faith which lives on campus through the abbey, the staff, and the students. Throughout the application process, I recognized that while academics are very important, it was most important to place myself at a campus which will bring me into deeper faith and help me discern my vocation. After visits and discussions with alumni, staff, and students, I decided Saint Anselm is the ideal location for me."

Bennett will pursue an Engineering Physics major at Saint Anselm. After graduation, he hopes to combine "my passion of helping the vulnerable and working with my hands through engineering low income housing."

We asked Bennett:

Why did you choose to attend a Catholic college/university?
I chose to attend a Catholic college because of my growing relationship with Catholicism throughout high school. From freshman year on, I found my faith to be the most important and most fulfilling part of my life. In college, I hope to continue to grow in my faith and find more experiences which bring me closer to God.

What aspect of your college/university are you most excited about?
I’m excited to meet new people and participate in new activities and service opportunities.

What are your hobbies?
I like working on small engines, doing overall mechanical work, and spending time outside working with my hands.

What was your favorite class in high school?
AP Literature and composition because my teacher made it really enjoyable and class discussions were interesting. I also did a large term paper on Brideshead Revisited which was very fulfilling.

What one tip about the college application process would you share with school seniors and/or their parents?
Be resourceful: you can often reuse or cut up essays to fit in with different college applications. Also make sure to have others by your side to peer edit essays.
